PLACEMENT PURPOSE
AmeriCorps State Community Disaster Preparedness Coordinators will be responsible for ensuring that a sustainable Preparedness/Resiliency program is in place by the end of their service terms. This includes becoming a subject matter expert in community resilience; recruiting, training and engaging a core group of volunteers; presenting CDE programs and conducting proactive outreach for presentation opportunities.

Term of service is a commitment of 1700 hours

- National Days of Service
- Disaster Preparedness Courses
- Disaster Services: An Overview
- Shelter Fundamentals
- Mass Care Overview
- Disaster Assessment Fundamentals
- Collaborating Essentials
- Psychological First Aid
- FEMA Courses (as appropriate)
- Become a member of Disaster Workforce Administration team and complete required courses for GAP
