Summary: Volunteers of Building Our Tomorrow (BOT) are considered to be employees of the Non profit organization with the understanding that the position help has no monetary benefit for the individual. Volunteers of the organization are those who wish to aid the organization in moving forward and expanding its projects throughout its target sites on Long Island. Volunteers will be given official @BOT.org email addresses as needed and access to the BOT intranet. It is understood that all information relating to BOT is proprietary information and cannot be shared or disclosed with anyone outside of the organization.
Duties: Volunteers will have a 1 week grace period where they are able to decide under which committee they would like to volunteer under. Each volunteer is required to identify a committee within one week after receiving a response from the volunteer form submission. Feel free to reach out to the organization for further details regarding each of the available committees. Details regarding specific committee duties can be found in the descriptions for those committees.

Fundraising Committee
Grant Committee
Public Relations Committee
All volunteers will have monthly or bi- monthly meetings with their assigned Committee Advisor to discuss updates on individual projects, and yearly requirements. It is during this call you can ask any questions, discuss concerns, bounce around ideas, but most importantly discuss any concerns about being stressed over the project or yearly requirements. Committee Advisors will be your resource for any and all problems. There will be an update document that will need to be filled out prior to the meetings.
Reporting Structure: Each volunteer will report to an assigned Committee Advisor.
Requirements: All volunteers, no matter the committee they are working under, are required to complete 2 recruiting events and 1 fundraising event unless otherwise previously agreed upon. Volunteers will be given individual projects based upon the specific committee they will be under. Committee Advisors will assign individual projects, and ensure that each volunteer is keeping up with the tasks and requirements.
Qualifications:

High School diploma (or currently in grade 10 or above) or GED Equivalency
An agreement to keep up with all volunteer duties and project deadlines, and communicate delays as needed.
Must have a reliable internet connection, and computer.
Knowledge:
Using Google Apps, including but not limited to: Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets.
Email, meeting, phone call etiquette and professionalism
Of Building Our Tomorrow missions, goals, and values.

Compensation: Volunteers are unpaid employees of the Building Our Tomorrow.
Benefits: Although volunteers are not paid, there are multiple benefits that we can offer to eligible volunteers. All eligible volunteers are able to receive letters of recommendations from the Executive Board of the organization.
**Because Building Our Tomorrow is a Non- profit organization, we cannot guarantee that a volunteer position will transpire into a paid position with the organization however if and when such opportunities become available they will be communicated with the volunteer team before publicly releasing the opportunity**

Through various programs we give the support to push these individuals to reach their goals, whether they are educationally, economically or emotionally.
Description
Building Our Tomorrow is a non-for-profit organization that seeks to partner with high school
and college students to create internships with local business and foster inter-personal
communication, strong work ethics and characteristics that contribute to great leaders. It is hoped
that these various opportunities will allow participants to develop and maintain the skills
necessary to be successful in the future. Supporters, local businesses and companies are the heart and sole of our communities. We hope to expand
throughout Long Island and other areas within New York State to help students and encourage
them to become engaged within their local government.
