Make a huge difference in a child's life! Spend two hours a week with a refugee child for one year, and you will reap the rewards for a lifetime. Mentors are matched one-to-one with refugee children between the ages of 9 and 17. You can meet with your mentee in their home or take them out in the community to share activities you enjoy. Mentors boost the child's self-esteem, help them study, teach them about life in the USA, and help them make friends. Most refugee children live in Clarkston, Tucker, and Decatur. Specific training for this opportunity is provided by CCA staff and group activities and volunteer meet-ups are offered every 3 months.
Volunteers must be 21 years old, submit to an agency background check, and meet the agency auto insurance requirements.
