Searching for a way to connect this winter with the vibrant art scene that makes Portland so unique?
That is us. The Portland Winter Light Festival is a large and humming annual event bringing people out of doors to come together in wonder and delight at a time of year when we need light and connection most!
Become a volunteer with and help us transform and animate our city's nighttime urban landscape through a series of light, fire, and art installations, projections, and performances.
This is a free, city-wide festival and we need your help to make it happen! Volunteer opportunities include:
- All-in-one Volunteers(Artwork Guardians, Info Booth, Wayfinders)
- Artist Support
- Fire Monitors & Fire Tenders
- Green Team Superheroes
- Greeters, Ambassadors, & Info Booth
- Donations Team
- Merch Booth
- Staff, Volunteer, & Artist Hospitality
- Survey + Crowd-Counting Squad
- Volunteer Check-In
The two main locations for volunteer opportunities are:

Description
Inspired by light festivals around the globe, the Portland Winter Light Festival, a Willamette Light Brigade event, aims to counteract the city’s tendency to hibernate during the winter. The festival brightens up the winter skyline and brings warmth to the outdoors with dazzling displays of light, color, and imagination. Bundle up and celebrate with us!
Free, All Ages Event!
The Portland Winter Light Festival is interactive, family-friendly, and designed to inspire adults and kids alike. Combining art and technology, people of all ages will find something to capture their spirit and fill their minds with imagination and wonder.
