The Friends of the Kennedy Center volunteer program is seeking Admin Support for the Fall 2016 term. Start date is August 2016 and end date is December 2016. Ideal hour requirement is 35 hours a week but is negotiable. This rewarding internship provides first-hand the commitment of the Center’s large and diverse volunteer corps and the invaluable service they provide. He/she learns about recruitment, retention, recognition as well as social networking, event planning, writing, graphic design, festival volunteer coordination, and outreach for NexGenFriends, volunteers 35 and under and Global Friends, volunteers from other countries. He/she serves as liaisons with departments utilize volunteers, so the Intern is able to get an idea of how the whole Center works, and how the volunteer program works within that structure. Description

A person who, beyond regular paid employment and normal day-to-day responsibilties, chooses to contribute time and service as a member of the Kennedy Center personnel team to assist the Center in the accomplishment of its mission.Friends volunteer services operates every day of the year unless otherwise indicated. Daily shifts are from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.; 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.; 6 p.m .- 9 p. m. Areas include gift shops, tour guides, information desk, administration and education.
