Mardi Gras / Carnival Party at the Social

We're looking for an individual that can take charge for the planning of UVA's Mardi Gras & Carnival Arts Festival on February. 28, 2017 in Newton. We're looking for someone that has experience or training planning a mult-faceted fun event. The event is an official Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) Festival.

We've started a new tradition in Boston and we want you to be a part of it. Its an evening of fun and celebration for all Unbound Visual Arts members, guests and friends at the modern Green Briar Restaurant and Pub in Brighton Center, MA. We'll have a live Mardi Gras band, A Confedercy of Dumpsters, light hor d' horeauves appropriate for Mardi Gras & Carnival, a full cash bar, an art show of UVA member's work, dancing, and a raffle and silent auction to win some great prizes. Come and be part of the excitement. Share a good time with artists and other art supporters from throughout the area. We'll provide the beads and masks too! And its on the 57, 65, 86, 501, 503 bus lines.

The raffle and silent auction will include a free one-month membership to the Equinox Fitness Centerin Chestnut Hill, where you can experience a luxurious fitness environment, a fitness evaluation, a pilates class and personal training session. The center includes tate-of-the-art strength training and conditioning equipment, immaculate locker rooms with full amenities, eucalyptus steam rooms, towel service, and a café., There will also be gift certificates from Sky Skin Careand ayoga studoin Watertown.

Don't know what Mardi Gras and Carnival is all about? No problem, it's basically a huge world wide celebration that happens every year. It really a big deal in New Orleans and most Latin American and many European countries. It's also called "Fat Tuesday" because theoretically its the last day to indulge before Lent sets in for Christians. But, everyone to celebrate the mid-point of spring!
