Fresh Start Surgical Gifts is an incredible non-profit organization that provides no-cost reconstructive surgery and related medical treatments to infants, children, and teens with physical deformities. Fresh Start utilizes a one-of-a-kind, comprehensive approach and treats patients who have barriers to healthcare access either because of their income, citizenship status, a lack of insurance or limited coverage, or any other factor.

The Fresh Start 25th Annual Butterfly Ball: Black & White Gala will be held on Saturday, October 15th at the Hyatt Regency in La Jolla. This event will raise funds that are specifically allocated to providing life changing surgery, dental work, laser treatments, and speech therapy to disadvantaged children suffering with various physical deformities. Our program has improved the lives of over 7,000 children to date-all of which have been given a second chance and increased self-confidence.

We are looking for volunteers like yourself who are looking to make a positive impact and make this special anniversary gala our most successful to date!

The event will be broken down into 2-3 shifts for volunteers. Our first shift will (approximately) begin at 11:00 am and the last shift will (approximately) end around 11:30 pm. There are a variety of positions available for night-of based on the evening’s timeline, including:

• Unload/ Auction & Décor Setup
• Registration & Check In (more in-depth training required)
• Raffle Sales
• Silent Auction
• Live Auction
• Sponsor a Patient (Paddle Raise)
• Auction Check Out/ Runner
• Clean Up

We will hold a training session prior to the event to ensure everyone is comfortable with their positions and is prepared to have a wonderful time! For those interested in the check in/ check out process, there will be more training sessions in order to properly go over and practice with our event software.
