Mission Statement
The Mission of Education for Hope is to improve the quality of life and end generational cycles of poverty by empowering the children of Sierra Leone with the tools and resources to be able to read and write, and thus have the ability to chart their own destiny.
Description
Education for HOPE (EFH) is a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization that is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. EFH seeks to promote education in Africa as a pathway out of poverty and toward better well-being. We believe that education is a fundamental human right, to be realized by all children, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Our focus is on providing basic school supplies for students, ensuring availability of books for school libraries, as well as supporting repairs and renovation of dilapidated schools. EFH also funds scholarships for promising students with greatest need. Presently, EFH is operating in Sierra Leone where we aim to influence education policies through advocacy, partnerships, and collaborations with governmental and non-governmental institutions.
