About

Job Description:

Opportunities for Collections Volunteers:

  • handle museum artifacts

  • sort and inventory incoming donations and loans

  • create written descriptions of artifacts and their condition

  • assist with installations and de-installations of exhibits

  • do research on people & artifacts

  • provide Archives research customer service

  • File research information

    Qualifications:

    You are someone who:

  • has basic office skills

  • is very comfortable with using computers & the internet (moderately proficient in MS Word and Excel preferred)

  • pays attention to details

  • enjoys working with historic objects, photographs, books, and documents

  • has very good written and verbal communication skills

  • is physically able to occasionally move artifacts, ranging from small to large

  • genealogy experience is helpful, but not required

    Finally, you are someone who likes to have fun at work!
