Hope and Help

Hope & Help Center has been contacted by the Orange County Supervisor of Elections. They have developed a fundraising program designed to provide community organizations and businesses with an opportunity to participate in the elections process in Orange County. In this case Hope & Help Center has "adopted" Precinct 549 Broadway Methodist Church 406 E. Amelia Orlando, FL. 32803 for the election cycle by providing the personnel to staff the Election Board at that precinct. We are reaching out to the community to ask if you can participate in this opportunity to assist not only Hope & Help Center but the electoral process.

Here are some frequently asked questions:

WHO IS ABLE TO WORK?

Must be registered to vote in Orange County.

HOW WILL WORKERS BE TRAINED?

The Orange County Supervisor of Elections office will provide all training and training materials. Training for each member of your team is mandatory by Florida Law. Hands on training will be held at the Supervisor of Elections office on 119 W. Kaley St., Orlando, FL 32806. Training times and dates are available by contacting Duane Hoyle at dhoyle@hopeandhelp.org.

WHAT HOURS WILL THEY WORK?

On Election Day, the polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Every Poll Worker must arrive by 6:00 a.m. to assemble the voting equipment and prepare the voting room. Poll workers may not leave the polling place during the election and must therefore bring all necessary medications with them. Hope & Help Center will provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bottled water. Once the polls close at 7:00 p.m. and all those in line have voted, all workers help close the polls-a task usually completed within 2 hours in most elections.

Countywide elections are March 15, 2016.
