Together we repair homes, revitalize communities, & transform lives.
Want to get your hands dirty? Give back to the community? Then become a captain for Rebuilding Together Aurora.
Volunteer captains are needed for the 2017 April Rebuilding Event on
April 29th.
Don't have any construction skills? Or have you been in the trades for years. Please sign up! All skill levels are needed. The only qualification required is your desire to help someone in need. You can say becoming a captain is similar to becoming an instructor for the day.
National Rebuilding Day projects will be located in the West side of Aurora in Ward 6 this year.
Once you have signed up a RTA staff member will contact you to have a one on one training with other captains you will be volunteering with. Trainings will be scheduled around your schedule! As a team we will explore what it means to be a captain, the responsibilities, what an event day looks like, and what to expect.
There will be an additional training on April 3rd in the evening. We will celebrate together the launch of National Rebuilding Day and go over any updates for the upcoming event on the 29th.

Mission Statement
Bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners.
Description
Rebuilding Together Aurora is a volunteer based not-for-profit organization that provides free home repair, safety modifications, and energy efficiency upgrades to low-income seniors, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and families with small children that own homes in the city of Aurora, Illinois. We are one of nearly 200 affiliates of the national Rebuilding Together (www.rebuildingtogether.org) organization, whose vision is to provide a safe and healthy home for every person. Our mission is to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the lives of low-income homeowners so that they may live in warmth, safety, and with independence.
Since our affiliate's founding in 1993, we have provided repair to over 1,000 homes, reinvested $2.5M back into the community, and annually engage over 900 volunteers in our mission.
Volunteers are utilized to provide: hands-on repairs to homes; plan and implement projects; provide administrative support throughout the year; assist on individual event days.
