About

We are looking for someone who has experience in PR, marketing and social media. This volunteer opportunity is perfect for college students who need experience in marketing, Public Relations and business development within the non-profit sector. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Writing monthly newsletters, press releases, blog and other content
  • Media outreach
  • Social media outreach
  • Research and assist with partnership outreach and opportunities
  • Design flyers, graphics, invites and other marketing material
  • Collaborate with principals on new ideas, strategies and tools for marketing and communications initiatives
  • Work with Fundraising Coordinator to seek out event opportunities
  • Assist with event coordination and management

Qualifications

  • Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space
  • Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field
  • Understanding of the basic principles of public relations and/or marketing
  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficiency in Adobe InDesign or Photoshop highly desired
  • Knowledge of HTML, website content management and graphic design a plus
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts
  • Ability to work well independently, and within a team
  • Commitment to cultural sensitivity and respect for differences
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of service quality and the organization’s mission

Compensation
This is an unpaid internship or volunteer opportunity. Paw Prints in the Sand reimburses for rescue-related expenses and mileage according to the IRS Non-Profit Standard Mileage Rate.
