ORGANIZATION: Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County

Background

San Bernardino County is the largest geographical county in the United States, yet the county remains one the most economically depressed and disadvantaged regions in the country. The CAPSBC food bank is clearinghouse for food products and commodities. The food is distributed to families and individuals throughout San Bernardino County by a network of over 180 community distribution agencies. On average, CAPSBC food bank serves 18,000 households each month with food distributions and serves 75,000 meals through a network of 30 soup kitchens.

Host a Packaging Party at Your Location!

  • A Packing Party is a fun and great way to educate volunteers about hunger and food insecurity in San Bernardino County while serving the community.
  • The event offers a fun, hands-on experience for team and community service, while working together toward a tangible goal.
  • Food commodities will be boxed for individual families, QA inspected, sealed, and palletized for distribution to low-income families in the county.

  • A Packaging Party can be held anywhere! Schedule the event to take place at your church, workplace, conference, club, or school!

Get Started

  • Contact the CAPSBC Food Bank to schedule your team’s event.
  • Set a goal for the number of families to serve and recruit volunteers based on your goals. 30 volunteers can package 240 family boxes within 2 hours!

  • Fundraise to sponsor the event. Be creative, ask the food bank for fundraising ideas and tips. All event funds are tax-deductible donations
