Redfield Friends of the Animals is a volunteer only based rescue, which means that we don't have our own facilites. We rely on the help of our community and neighbors to rescue and save dogs and cats from our local animal shelter. We are in need of short-term (2-3 weeks) and Long-term (6-8 months) Fosters. The short term fosters are for the puppies and healthy dogs that are brought into the shelter. They have a quick turn around, where we can get them vetted and transported to our partner rescue in Maine. The Long term fosters are needed for the HW Positive animals, or any other animal that needs to be cared for longer, due to sickness, malnourishment, etc. They will need to undergo treatments to rid them of the worms before they will be able to transport or adopted.

During the Fostering period, you will be required to love, nurture and care for the animal. RFOAR will be financially responsible for the animal while in your care. You will need to be able to transport animal to/from any vet appointments, adoption events, and transport pick-ups.

If you are interested in helping us save these animals, please contact us and we will email you a foster application. Fostering not only saves the one you have, but the one that is able to take it's place at the shelter.

Mission Statement

The Redfield Friends of Animals Rescue group assists Redfield Animal Control in providing care, advocating for, and promoting adoption of current animals.

Description

The Redfield Friends of the Animals Rescue group is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. Our main goal is to assist the Redfie ld Animal Control in the adoption process of the current city pound population. Along with this, we also work to provide needed medical assistance, advocate and promote spay and neuter education, assist in any repairs of kennels, collect and organize donations, etc.

We NEED Fosters! Being a foster family will allow a dog to remain in the home setting and remain socialized. Our kennels are all outdoors and the dogs only get a short amount of time out of their small pen and with a person. This can cause rapid deterioration which leads to their becoming un-adoptable which can then lead to euthanasia. It is the goal of the RFOAR to prevent any dog from being put down. To attain this goal, we need your help! Contact us if you are interested in fostering, adopting, or donating in anyway!
