Are you looking for ways to connect with people from different cultures right here in Denver? Do you want to help newly arrived refugees to learn new language and understand U.S. culture? Lutheran Family Services is looking for volunteers to help refugees with Cultural Orientation.
Get Involved by helping newly arrived refugees:
- Learn about American culture and society
- By leading field trips to the library, grocery store, hospital, school etc.
- Learn how to use the bus (teach vocabulary, transfers, fares, driver etc.)
- Learn how to maintain their new home
- Learn to budget and save money in shopping
- Interpret and translate if needed
Get started by attending an orientation that are offerred on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th Wednesday of every month from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at 1600 Downing Street (5th floor). Or contact Rekha Dhaurali.

Therefore, Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains (LFSRM) is committed to offering love and support to the people it serves, regardless of race, religion, gender, or age, to help equip them to live full and whole lives.
Today more than 20 million refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced persons are living with a very uncertain future. The LFSRM Refugee & Asylee Programs are dedicated to helping these vulnerable individuals and families rebuild their lives by equipping them to achieve self-sufficiency within their first year in the United States and fostering integration into their new communities.
