Girls Inc. girls!

Inspire youth to be strong, smart, and bold with our afterschool program, Girls Group!

Using research-based curricula, volunteers support Lead Program Facilitators at weekly Girls Groups with roughly 8-15 youth. Volunteers participate in relationship building through hands-on activities and discussions each week that inspire youth to be strong, smart, and bold.

How we support:Girls Inc. will provide you with training in group facilitation, age-appropriate and gender specific program delivery, and highly researched, ready made curricula and activities for you to support with our Girls Groups. Each group is facilitated by a trained staff member.

Location: North Portland

Schedule: Every Wednesday April 9th - May 28th from 3 PM to 5 PM (opportunities to return in the fall as well!)

Volunteer Requirements:

  • 18 years or older
  • Experience working with youth
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must complete 5-7 hours of Girls Inc. training

Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest inspires all girls and youth to be Strong, Smart & Bold through empowering the whole youth. Participants of Girls Inc. programming learn to value their whole selves, discover and develop their inherent strengths, and receive the support they need to navigate the challenges they face. Girls Inc. programming equips young people to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers, and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Informed by youth and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities and rights for all girls and youth.
