Snyder-Union-Northumberland Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is looking for board members that can help bring our organization into the next phase of our growth. We are expanding the number of homes built and needed qualified people to aid us in making decisions and leading our volunteers. We are currently in need of those who are involved in the following areas: construction, real estate, legal, human services, and long term strategic planning. If you have these skills or have experience in leadership we would like to speak with you to consider your nomination. If you believe in helping low-income families by giving them a hand up not a hand out this is the organization for you. Meetings are held the 4th Monday of every month, time commitment is at least 5 hours per month.

SUNHFH bring's God's people together to build homes, communitites, and hope in Snyder, Union, and Northumberland Counties.
Snyder-Union-Northumberland Habitat for Humanity builds home in partnership with people who are currently living in substandard housing and can not afford a traditional mortgage. Each approved partner works hand-in-hand with our community volunteers to build their own homes. They are required to attend a budgeting program and submit a $300 down payment. Once the home is complete the family will be given a no-interest rate mortgage for the amount that it cost to build the home. Those payments are then used to build more homes. We currently build one or two homes per year and have two part-time employees. Almost all of the administrative and construction duties are completed by volunteers, providing many different opportunities to the community at large.
