Please Live is a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in central Pennsylvania dedicated to education and awareness of youth mental health concerns, particularly depression, anxiety, and suicide prevention. Learn more at www.PleaseLive.org.

Please Live has several openings for volunteer management and leadership positions.

Specifically, we are looking for backup committee chairs that can "learn the ropes" and act as backup leadership in case of emergency or resignations:

Fundraising Committee Chair & Fundraising Backup Chair

Fundraising committee focuses on planning and executing fundraisers throughout the year, acquiring business sponsorships for events, sending out donation receipts, etc.


Education Committee Backup Chair

Education committee focuses on our content and message, creating and editing our print materials, website content, blog posts, and e-newsletter articles.

Love Life Ministries Backup Chair

Love Life Ministries branch focuses on churches and spirituality, bringing our message to youth groups from a biblical view.

Marketing Backup Chair

Marketing committee focuses on our PR, runs our social media, clickrates, website bounces, A/B testing, and advertising.

Vice President

The VP acts as a backup president, focusing on making sure the organization is running smoothly, runs Board of Director meetings, meets with local schools/agencies/partners as needed, among other leadership tasks.

All potential candidates must be within driving distance of Harrisburg, PA to attend meetings as necessary.

Preferred Skills:

- Organization and people management skills

- Background in mental health/social work/nonprofit sector

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Conflict resolution and mitigation

- Proficiency in computers (mainly Google Groups, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Hangouts)

PLEASE LIVE SEEKS TO:

  1. Educate students, youth staff, and community members about depression, suicide, and related mental health topics, signs & symptoms of mental illnesses, and where/how to seek help for mental health problems.
  2. Empower students to look for and be aware of mental illness symptoms in themselves and in their peers.
  3. Reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.

Mission: to cultivate mental wellness through education and awareness of youth and young adult mental health challenges, focusing primarily on depression, anxiety, and suicide prevention.

Description

Please Live is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based out of central Pennsylvania that is dedicated to education and awareness of teen mental health issues, particularly depression, anxiety, and suicide prevention.

Please Live is a small nonprofit consisting of about 20 volunteers from all over the country. We are a young nonprofit in two ways: firstly, we received our 501(c)3 status in 2014. Secondly, our Board of Directors is made up of primarily adults in their 20's.
