As a Volunteer Webmaster, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our organization's online presence. Your technical expertise and creative skills will help us effectively communicate our mission, engage with stakeholders, and drive positive impact through our website.
Responsibilities:
- Website Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain the organization's website to ensure content accuracy, functionality, and security.
- Content Management: Create, edit, and publish engaging content, including articles, blog posts, event updates, and multimedia materials.
- Design and Layout: Implement design enhancements and optimize the website layout for user experience and accessibility.
- SEO Optimization: Apply search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to improve the website's visibility and ranking on search engine results pages.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to users and troubleshoot website-related issues as needed.
- Integration of Tools and Plugins: Integrate and manage third-party tools, plugins, and widgets to enhance website functionality and user engagement.
- Analytics and Reporting: Monitor website traffic, user engagement metrics, and performance indicators. Generate reports and insights to inform website optimization strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the communications team, graphic designers, content creators, and other stakeholders to align website content and design with organizational goals and branding guidelines.
- Training and Documentation: Develop training materials and provide guidance to staff and volunteers on website management best practices.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in web development and digital marketing.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in web development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, Drupal) and website hosting platforms.
- Strong understanding of web design principles, UX/UI best practices, and responsive design.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in web development, digital marketing, or related fields is desirable but not required.
