Honor the Mission and Vision of our organization through direct patient encounters! Are you looking for a positive way to help your community, while enjoying the rewards and personal satisfaction of helping others? You will have the ability to relate to patients on an emotional level to help decrease anxiety and increase comfort during their stay. Our volunteer care carts are full of activities to help benefit our patient's well-being and comfort. With word search, crossword puzzles, magazines, coloring sheets, crayons, tic-tac-toe, games, DVD players, DVD's/CDs, stress and memory balls, puzzles and playing cards, volunteers help create a soothing atmosphere for our patients.

All items help with enjoyment, relaxation, cognitive stimulation, improve attention span, stimulate memory and encourage conversation. They allow for self-expression, improved fine motor skills; sharpening eye/hand coordination, visual and or auditory attention not only for confused or dementia patients but also for those patients who may be hospital bound for long periods and who may not have frequent visits from family and friends. This volunteer role offers our volunteers the opportunity for close interactiions with patients.
