As a Spanish SpeakingLegal Phone Intake Assistant* you will screen callers for eligibility and perform the detailed case intake required for ELAP DV Staff Attorneys or our pro bono legal clinic attorneys to provide issue-tailored legal advice. You will also help get the word out about ELAP through social media.
Duties:
- Staff phone line, answer calls for clients that are Spanish speaking
- Screen callers for residence, income and civil legal matter guidelines
- Perform detailed legal intake using the Legal Server Database with callers
- Schedule legal clinic appointments and confirm or cancel existing appointments
- Provide clients with referral information to appropriate community agencies
- Assist with case management tasks as needed
- Report to ELAP Director of Pro Bono Services in regards to Phone Intake duties.
- Manage and maintain up to date announcements and information for ELAP’s FACEBOOK and Twitter accounts. (Reports to Program Director for these duties).

Mon. - Thurs.
9:00am to 1:30pm
Qualifications:
- Must be bilingual English/Spanish, fluency in both languages, with excellent verbal and writing skills;
- Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to respond to clients with patience and a non-judgmental attitude;
- Direct and ability to learn quickly, absorb and process new information;
- Strong typing skills and computer literacy required;
- Experience managing FACEBOOK and Twitter accounts.
- Excellent writing skills;
- Confidentiality is paramount in maintaining the privacy of clients;
