Provide administrative support within the offices at Jamestown Settlement, American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, or Central Support Complex. Duties to include:
- Work with internal and external customers
- General office tasks: answering telephones, filing and copying, collating training materials
- Mass mailings, including special event invitations
- Word processing
- Editing and proofreading materials
- Responding to requests for information
- Other duties as applicable within department
- Maintaining a record of volunteer hours
The Foundation offers a comprehensive staff training program that includes lectures, tours, demonstrations, and skills training that amply equip volunteers for any role they choose. In return for donating their time, the Foundation's core volunteers receive complementary admission to Jamestown Settlement and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown for themselves and their family; 20% discount at the Foundation's museum gift shops; 50% discount at the Jamestown Settlement Cafe, and other benefits. Description
The Foundation, accredited by the American Association of Museums, is an educational institution of the Commonwealth of Virginia and administers two living-history museums. Jamestown Settlement interprets the cultures of 17th-century colonial Jamestown, America's first permanent English settlement and the Powhatan Indians. The American Reluntion Mesuem at Yorktown interprets the impact of the American Revolution on the people of America and the development of the new nation.
