Chili Cook-Off Volunteer
Sunday, February 4, 2018, 11 AM to 4 PM
One of the HOTTEST events of the year for Children’s Home Society of Florida, The Chili Cook-Off at Ormond Lanes in Ormond Beach is having a bowling tournament and chili contest! In addition to discovering the best of the best in chili and bowling, this event will also help the Children's Home Society of Florida, as all proceeds will benefit our organization!
Number of volunteers needed: 8-10 volunteers
Location: Ormond Lanes, 260 N. US Hwy 1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174
We are in need of:
- Chili Contest volunteers: Give out samples of chili to guests. Chili samples will cost $5, so someone is needed to handle cash. Each crock pot of chili will have a bowl where people can put their tickets to vote. Volunteers will be judging and counting the number of tickets and help decide a winner. Needs 2-3 people.
- Raffle volunteers: Need volunteers to help with the raffles. There will be gift card prizes for those with the winning ticket. Volunteers will need to grab the attention of the audience, guard the prizes, and announce the numbers. Needs 2-3 people.
- Silent Auction volunteers: volunteers will explain the silent auction process, greet guests, manage the area, keep track of bidding, and guard the prizes. Needs 2-3 people.
- Bake sale volunteers: sell delicious yummy treats, handle money and make change. 2 people needed.
Age requirement: at least 18 years old, chaperone required for anyone below 18.
Dress code: Casual

Mission Statement
Embracing Children. Inspiring Lives.
Description
Our dream:
- To break the generational cycle of child abuse in more families.
- To protect children from harm.
- To heal children who've been hurt.
- To create strong, stable families.
- To help children grow up safe, healthy and prepared for life.
We protect and heal children. We have been doing this since 1902. We build and strengthen families. We rescue and embrace teens struggling to survive on their own.
Always doing better for kidsWe owe it to kids to consistently find ways to do it better. So we do.
Research reveals that abuse is generational. So we declared our ambitious goal: to break this tragic cycle in more families. And we have. But we’ve done so much more, too - all because we believe kids, teens and families deserve the very best we can give.
With more than 100,000 kids and their family members counting on us, we have more than 1,800 dedicated professionals serving every community in Florida. Our North Coastal Division serves over 2,700 children and families in Volusia, Putnam and Flagler counties. Our 15 primary locations and 90+ offices ensure we're reaching children in all 67 counties.
