We have several students who struggle with science and biological sciences, and welcome tutorial assistance. This opportunity can be late afternoon from about 3:30 to 5:00, or in the early evening hours. A brief description of the function needed from volunteers would be:
To help the students focus on the homework at hand and remain on-task.
Guide the student so they are learning how to find answers on assignments for themselves.
Build upon and reinforce the lesson they just experienced during the school day.
Mentor them on the importance of retaining what was learned so it can be related to future assignments, and also for quizzes or tests.
Volunteers may also choose to assist with our springtime science fair for junior high students.
