Mission Statement

The Maryland Agricultural Resource Council is organized for the benefit of the citizens of Maryland to enhance the rural economy and to foster conservation of agricultural and natural resources through educational and technical services.

Description

Provide life-long learning opportunities for current and prospective farmers and agribusinesses through seminars, activities, continuing education programs, curriculum-based partnerships with schools, colleges, and universities as well as mentoring opportunities with successful farmers.

Support rural economic growth in Maryland through agriculture and related fields that is consistent with local and statewide natural resource protection and farmland conservation goals.

Promote citizen understanding of and appreciation for agricultural businesses and their impact on the lives of all people and the environment in which they live with a focus on the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Help children and families of diverse backgrounds develop a personal connection to agriculture through tangible, hands-on experiences.
