Field trips are an essential program of Audubon Arizona. Nature In Your Neighborhood Field Trip Volunteers will assist with implementing interpretive programming, and maintaining an environment conducive for learning with children of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and prepare for morning set-up
  • Implement interpretive stations by leading bird walks, sharing animal biofacts, and leading student-driven discussions
  • Describe and explain information in ways all age groups can understand
  • Work with co-leaders of stations to provide engaging lessons
  • Represent Audubon Arizona in a positive manner by maintaining a positive attitude and delivering excellent guest experiences


  • Friendly, outgoing personality to interact with students and guests of all ages
  • Comfortable being outdoors, with varying degrees of heat and inclement weather
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Ability to relate skills to others
  • Know, or be willing to learn, various types of fauna, flora, and animals commonly seen at Audubon Arizona
  • Ability to walk a one-mile interpretive trail
  • Must pass background check
