Norfolk County RSVP invites volunteers age 55+ to participate in our Elementary School Tutoring Program. RSVP Volunteer Tutors assist elementary school teachers with one-on-one and small group support for schoolchildren who would benefit from extra attention, typically in reading or math. Other volunteer activities such as arts & crafts, music, science and library support may also be available in some schools.
You don’t need to have taught previously to help. We’re looking for caring adults with a range of backgrounds, life experiences and expertise that want to help make a difference in the lives of children. Our role is to help match your interests and skills with a suitable and supportive classroom opportunity. School volunteers are asked to commit to 1 - 1.5 hours per week through the end of the school-year. Training is provided.
Norfolk County RSVP currently has K-5th grade elementary school volunteer opportunities in Dedham, Walpole, Stoughton and, Weymouth.
Volunteers must be ages 55 and older to participate in this special intergenerational school volunteer program. One-year commitment expected (Nov. 2023-June 2024). Training is provided.
