HIGH NEED: The Center for Safety and Healing at Nationwide Children's Hospital fully addresses all aspects of family violence including child abuse and neglect, teen dating abuse, and domestic violence.
Volunteers staff the playroom of the Child Assessment Center, providing support and play to children at various stages of their assessment process. Confidentiality and sensitivity are extremely important in this role. While volunteers are not told specifics of a patient’s situation, they may hear some information. Staff is always available for support.
Daytime opportunities, 2-hour shift, Monday-Friday, typically 9a-5p. Specific days/times available. Contact us for openings. Summer availability is important.
Convenient, free parking behind the building.
Volunteer application and on-boarding includes background check, TB test, and documentation of immunizations.
