We are lookinng for people who are interested in fostering senior and special need dogs in their homes.
For senior dogs, this will mean you wil probably be fostering them for the remaining days/weeks/months of their lives.
For special need dogs, this will meann you may be fostering them long-term, giving them meds, etc. until they are adopted, or placed on adoption (some facilities will take a dog back for adoption so they can showcase the dog at their facility).
Sometimes it's a combination of both senior & special needs.
All medical for the dogs is paid for. Their food will also be paid for. We are just looking for loving homes for these dogs so they don't have to stay in boarding. Dogs tend to always thrive better in a home environment.
You will be required to fill out an application, do an intial phone interview, visit one of the facilities where the senior/special needs dog is staying so you can meet with the current caretakers to find out what how to be a hospice foster and learn more about what is expected of you.
We will also do a home inspection to make sure your home is safe for the dog. Please also note from every month or so for the first couple of months, we may request to visit the dog to see how they are doing.
If you are interested in fostering a senior/special needs dog, we would love it if you would contact us! We hope to hear from you soon!
