Graphic Design Volunteer | Are you a walking enthusiast with a talent for graphic design? Do you want to harness your artistic skills to support pedestrians? Do you love meeting deadlines as much as helping your community? Then this is the volunteer opportunity for you! Join Oregon Walks as a Graphic Design Volunteer today!
Benefits of This Volunteer Role: Support Oregon Walk’s work while building your design portfolio. Develop understanding of community engagement while growing your design, time management, and general organizational skills. Increase Oregon Walks’ capacity to promote walking conditions that are safe, convenient and attractive for everyone throughout the Portland region.
Volunteer Role and Responsibilities: Supports the work of staff by producing outreach materials as needed. Volunteer is encouraged to create work based on own artistic vision while keeping within parameters provided and maintaining existing brands. Deadlines will be based on a Design Project Schedule mutually agreed upon in advance; each design project will include 1-4 revisions, as needed.
Time Commitment: CURRENTLY, SEEKING HELP SPECIFICALLY FOR DESIGNING A POSTER FOR OUR ANNUAL SUMMER OPEN STREETS COMMUNITY EVENT. PRODUCT WILL BE PRINTED IN-HOUSE PLUS USED FOR DIGITAL PROMOTION (.pdf & .jpg formats). ESTIMATED WORK TIME: 5-10 HRS OVER 1-3 WEEKS. MUST MEET AT LEAST ONCE IN PERSON, BUT MOST WORK CAN BE DONE REMOTELY.
Reports to & supported by: Oregon Walks Volunteer Coordinator
Qualifications: Interest in healthy communities and social equity; strong visual design skills; attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines; strong communications skills; ability to follow direction and collaborate. Illustrator, Photoshop, and/ or InDesign, familiarity with Google Drive.
