Be an advisor for the community’s living room! The City of Sherwood is accepting applications for the Library Advisory Board. Applicants must be Sherwood residents and have an interest in providing an advisory role for the Sherwood Public Library’s services, policies, strategic planning and advocacy. The Library Advisory Board meets at 6 pm, the third Wednesday of every other month (February, April, June, August, October, and a date TBD in December). Terms are four years. Specific questions regarding the Library Advisory Board may be directed to Adrienne Doman Calkins, Library Manager, at 503-625-4272 or adriennec@wccls.org .

The mission of the City of Sherwood Volunteer Program is to provide an enjoyable experience for citizens to help their community by assisting City staff; therefore enhancing the delivery of excellent customer service.

Description

The Community Services Department encompasses the Library, Sherwood Center for the Arts, Marjorie Stewart Senior/Community Center, the Sherwood Old Town Field House operations, volunteer services, field and gym scheduling, and the coordinating and planning of various cultural activities and events. The Community Services Department is responsible for planning and implementing recreation and cultural activities, volunteer services, and coordinating events such as Music on the Green and acting as a liaison to the YMCA and other community groups.
