Being a GOTR Coach is so much fun! Join a group of coaches at a local elementary school to facilitate the GOTR curriculum to a team of girls one or two times a week afterschool for ten weeks! Each volunteer session lasts approximately 2 hours. Volunteer days and times will depend on the school. All the materials and training needed for a great and successful season are provided by GOTR staff. Girls learn life skills through games, physical activities, and discussion. No running experience needed.
Head coaches must be women ages 21+ who understand and believe in the mission of GOTR. This is a 4-5 hours-per-week commitment for the 10-week season and all head coaches must organize and supervise two weekly lessons, help organize Running Buddies for each girl, and attend the end-of-season 5K to run and cheer on your girls.
Assistant coaches can be men or women ages 18+ who understand and believe in the mission of GOTR. This is a 2-4 hour per week commitment for the 10-week season.

Mission Statement
We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Description
We are a ten week after school program for girls in grades 3-8. The girls meet at their school with volunteer coaches to go through a curriculum that teaches them important life skills such as how to be a good friend, how to stand up to gossip and bullying, positive self talk, and even complete a community impact project all while using physical activity and movement to train for a 5k. At the end of the ten-weeks we have a celebratory final 5k where the girls at all of the sites come together and gain confidence through accomplishment! Our goal is to really develop the whole girl mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially.
