If you can commit to at least 2 hours a week for six weeks after school hours or every Saturday morning at 9:30 - 11:00 am or Saturday afternoon at 2:30 - 4:00 pm, please call Catherine Hand 619-445-2576 to arrange to attend training sessions every Saturday morning starting September 2023, for our new session beginning on September 1, 2023. A signed liability release is required to participate, which can be downloaded from http://www.dreamriderequestriantherapy.com.
The only requirements are the ability to fulfill a commitment, to be physically able to walk for one hour, and your willingness to learn how to assist special needs and young children on horseback. All you need to know will be included in the training.
If you are allergic to horses, you should probably not apply, or if you suffer from anxiety attacks, this work requires a mature acceptance of the responsibility to help keep yourself, the pony, and the children focused and calm. That will depend on your own self-control. This work cannot be done without the help of volunteers. Your time will be much appreciated.
Knowledge is power. We are here to give that to you if you can make this time your priority.
Sincerely,
Catherine Hand

We conduct individual riding lessons on ponies and need trained volunteers for leading and side walking to protect the physically or emotionally impaired clients. Volunteers must be available for six lessons in six weeks. Please contact us if your schedule allows for your consistent participation since scheduling depends on volunteer presence. All volunteer training is provided in advance of engaging in lessons for impaired clients. Please go to the website: http://www.dreamriderwwquestriantherapy.com and download the volunteer packet, which contains required information for us to insure you when you participate.
We also need competent horse trainers and riders to condition our therapy ponies.
If your talent is in community outreach, grant writing or fund raising and you cannot regularly assist in lessons, help is needed in outreach as well to sustain and promote the program.
