You are key to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and our resources at community events. As a Community Outreach Volunteer you will represent Alzheimer’s Orange County at Health and Wellness fairs and community events, provide materials and basic information on programs and services, and provide public awareness, education, and support to Orange County’s communities.
Health Fairs are sponsored by cities, companies, and other organizations so that individuals may attend and have access to valuable information and services. They include, but are not limited to, community health expos, 5k walk events, community fairs, educational events, etc.
We provide the training to help you interact with individuals seeking assistance. Volunteers should have good interpersonal skills, reliable transportation, must be 18+ years of age, and willing to submit a background check.
Potential volunteers are asked to commit to at least two events per month for a period of 12 months. Events are generally scheduled mid-week between 7AM and 8PM and on weekends. Events average about 4 hours in length and are scheduled throughout Orange County only.
