Patient companions provide one-on-one time with patients as needed. Volunteer may read, talk, play games, or just provide companionship to a patient. Patient companions are a valuable resource to many families that are unable to take time off to be in the hospital with family members who are patients.

NOTE: Companions are neither mental health professionals nor medical doctors. While volunteers can actively listen and empathize, they cannot provide advice nor any service that can be misconstrued as therapy.
