Need a flexible volunteer opportunity? Do you enjoy butterflies? Would you like to learn more about them? Then join Aullwood's Butterfly Monitoring project! Once a week (typically on Thursday afternoons, though it may be moved due to weather conditions), join a naturalist or veteran volunteer to find, identify and count butterflies for science! This is a perfect opportunity for someone who needs a flexible schedule as this opportunity does not require a regular commitment. Butterfly Monitors are notified at the beginning of the week by phone which day the monitoring will occur (it is weather dependent). As butterflies are all sizes, it takes many eyes to spot them as you leisurely walk through prairie and woodland habitats. Binoculars are recommended, but not required.
