Help collect information about birds on and around the International Dayton Airport. Data collected will be used to evaluate and make recommendations about the best habitats to plant around the airport to help prevent bird-plane strikes, and may impact decisions at airports and airbases around the country. This opportunity demands following rigourous scientific protocol (training provided) as well as the ability to identify birds by both sight and sound. Volunteers work in teams of two to monitor 13 different habitats around the airport. Monitoring starts at dawn and takes 3 hours once a month on the day of your choice. This is not the regular birdwatching or birding activity that many people enjoy as a hobby.
