Volunteers are needed to care & cuddle for cats staying in the Petsmart Fayetteville adoption center on MONDAYS, TUESDAYS, FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS. This volunteer will clean cages, change bedding, refresh water and food, scoop litter boxes, take out trash, sweep the floor, brush, pet and give lots of love to the cats. Cats are typically let out of their cage for exercise while the cage is being cleaned. The volunteer should be comfortable with retrieving the cat and placing it back in the cage. In addition to cleaning the kitties need love, affection, and playtime❤️
The volunteer must be a mature, responsible and RELIABLE adult who is able to work independently and is comfortable handling cats. There is moderate labor involved in cleaning the cages. Good judgement is needed as some cats are initially fearful in the environment of the adoption center. You will need to report updates on the health and welfare of kitties on our online private group. Youth volunteers are welcome but only with parental/adult supervision.
This job will require 1-2 hours of your time, the same day every week. It can be done at your convenience between the hours of 12 pm and 8 pm. Training will be provided. There is not a specific end date but we would need notice to find a replacement for your specific day.
Winging Cat Rescue's adoption center is inside Petsmart Fayetteville, 101 Pavillion Pkwy, Fayetteville, GA 30214
Should this opportunity interest you, please email for the volunteer application and paperwork. If you are underage you MUST fill out a parental consent form and one of your parents must help you perform these duties. If you are a group - only 2 people can comfortably do this job in the Adoption Center. We appreciate your interest in volunteering for Winging Cat Rescue. If you do not receive the application - please check your spam or email: carrie4wcr@gmail.com

Description
Our short term Goals: As a licensed rescue, our mission is to save Cats and Kittens from DeathRow, place in Foster care for adoption, and to transport to No-Kill Shelters or Cat Sanctuaries.
Although we are a network of internet based volunteers located nationwide as well as local volunteers in various counties in the greater Atlanta area, we have focused (but not exlusive to) in Animal Controls in Butts, Jasper, Henry and originally Spalding. Spalding county animal control did use the inhumane Gas Chambers as their method of "euthanasia". But as of July 2009 they have switched to lethal injection for all animals are put down.
Our Long Term Goals: The Cat population explosion is of epidemic proportions. We are hoping to increase public awareness of this problem and we have already implemented a low-cost Spay/Neuter Program for area residents of Spalding County as well as 50% off S/N vouchers to those who adopt directly from Spalding Animal Control. We have also established a Medical Fund to provide initial Vax to the Cats & Kittens while they are still in Spalding Animal Control. We have already seen the benefits of this program. It has greatly reduced the outbreak of distemper and other diseases. This not only benefits the Cats themselves, but also Spalding County Residents who can be more confident about the health of the cat they are adopting.
