Associate Artistic Director for TEA (Theatre for Empowerment and Advocacy), a social justice, Witness Theatre approach

1. Using Devised Theatre, theatre of the Oppressed methods, Associate Director assists in:

  • the development and direction of theatrical productions of stories of Immigrants and Refugees, with first focus on DACA/DAPA stories
  • the Collection DACA/DAPA success stories
  • Recruitment of actors, script-writers, set and prop designers
  • Finding venues for performances
  • Arrangemkent of videography for project
  • Distribution of video through YouTube and CreaTV, San Jose'

Description

The specific purpose of this corporation is for service, research and training:

  1. To provide counseling, psycho- educational services and cultural awareness programs for newcomer families and their children that is respectful of ethnic values and diverse views, including State Laws pertaining to Child Protection, Domestic Violence, Educational, Immigration and other areas.
  2. To provide a setting for professionals who work with stressed families in newcomer and other circumstances to gain knowledge and skills to help them be effective in their work.
  3. To develop a knowledge base for dissemination of practices, methods and concepts for use in the broad mental health and Social Services field.
