The San Francisco Civic Symphony (SFCS) is seeking 1-2 skilled photographers to help us capture images during our upcoming Fall 2016 concerts. The oldest community orchestra association in the west coast, the SFCS provides a welcoming place for musicians of all levels to play, and hosts free performances for the public quarterly. We are a quickly growing organization in need of new images to reflect the beautiful, high-quality concert experiences we provide that can be used for our storyelling, fundraising, and marketing purposes.
Our ideal volunteer(s) are skilled photographers who are capable of capturing and editing high quality images during a live performance. This is a great opportunity for young professionals or aspiring amateurs to build their portfolio and gain experience working in a low-light live music / theatre setting. The SFCS will gladly work with the volunteer to develop a photo usage agreement that includes credting the photographer for any images used.
Volunteer responsibilities include:
- Arriving ~2 hours prior to the concert during rehearsal to capture close-up images of muscians playing
- If available, remaining for all or a portion of the concert to capture additional wide shots of the full orchestra while performing in front of a live audience
- Providing the SFCS with edited, high res digital images suitable for web and print use (with credit)
- Having access to his/her own photography equipment (camera and photo editing software) and transportation to/from the concert venues in San Francisco
- October 30, 3 PM at the Nourse Theater (275 Hayes St)
- November 4, 8 PM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church (1111 O'Farrell St)
- November 14, 8 PM at Lakeside Presbyterian Church (201 Eucalyptus Drive)
