Help foster a love of books and reading in the patients of our Pediatric Department! Even if you have just 1 hour a week to read a book to a child waiting in the department, you can have a tremendous impact on that child. Reading with children, and their families, will serve to create an environment that fosters literacy and opens the door for providers to discuss the importance of reading with families. At the child’s follow-up visit, providers will give each child a book of their very own to take home.
We are looking for someone who loves books, is creative, outgoing, patient, and enjoys interacting with both children and adults. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful, but not required.
This opportunity is available Monday-Friday during the day, with some possibility of evening or weekend hours.
