CASA volunteers provide an independent voice for a child in court proceedings. Once a CASA volunteer is assigned to a specific child, the volunteer gathers all relevant information about the child and represents his or her best interests to the judge and the child welfare system. CASA volunteers review records that pertain to the child. CASA volunteers also interview the child and other parties connected to the child. CASA volunteers monitors the case and ensure the child is receiving services. CASA volunteers make valuable recommendations to help determine and expedite the best permanency plan for the child. All volunteers are supervised by a case supervisor.
