Pure Joy! Art-Making with ARTZ Philadelphia at the Woodmere Museum of Art in Chestnut Hill, PA

We have three different kinds of opportunities for volunteers:

1. Face-to-Face (delivery of quality-of-life enhancing programs to people living with dementia and their families, both in the community and in care facilities)

2. "ARTZ in the Making" (delivery of multi-disciplinary and multi-sensory art-making programs to people living with dementia in the community and in care facilities)

3. Behind-the-Scenes (communications, marketing, press, program evaluation, program support, publicity, general administrative assistance, Web site and social media assistance)

Monthly programs largely take place on weekdays. However, we can always use behind-the-scenes help on weekends, including prep for occasional special events!

ARTZ Philly's volunteer program requires volunteers to complete a two-part training with us, and includes a subsequent 6 month volunteering commitment (we ask that you attend at least one program/month).

About ARTZ Philadelphia

Location:

1229 Chestnut Street, #188, Philadelphia, PA 19107, US

Mission Statement

Our purpose is to provide opportunities for self-expression and for the rebuilding of self-esteem and dignity to people with memory loss and those who care for them. We achieve this mission through research-based programs that connect people living with dementia and their care partners with artists and cultural organizations in creative community.

Description

ARTZ Philadelphia was founded on the belief that people living with dementia should be accorded the benefits of well-being and quality of life that others enjoy. We provide cultural and creative opportunities that turn that belief into reality. We are committed to supporting and celebrating people with dementia and their care partners as valued members of our wider creative community.
