This activity is structured similarly to speed dating. Job Readiness Workshop participants identify a volunteer to introduce themselves to and start a conversation. They repeat this process until they have spoken to as many volunteers as possible within a 20-30 minute timeframe. The ultimate goal is for each Job Readiness Workshop participant to experience starting a conversation with a "stranger", introducing themselves, and productively presenting their professional experiences and goals.
Every other Tuesday, 2:30 - 2:50 PM (5 volunteers max)
All volunteers will complete an application and should ideally have enough work experience to be able to share some "words-of-wisdom" with the participants. Volunteers can help on a one time or recurring basis, though we do encourage new volunteers to observe a session at least once to become familiar with the role.
