South Suburban ABE

Assist certified teachers by providing one-on-one or small group tutoring for adults learning to improve basic skills, preparing to take the GED, or studying English Language communication skills.

Over 10% of people living in Minnesota speak another language other than English in the home and about 10% are without high school credentials. Help improve the lives of individuals in your community by tutoring adults.

Twelve hour training provided by Minnesota Literacy Council.

South Suburban Adult Basic Education (SSABE) is committed to providing adults with educational opportunities to acquire and improve the literacy skills necessary to be self-sufficient and to participate effectively as productive workers, family members, and citizens.

Description

Under the direction of a certified teacher, South Suburban Adult Basic Education volunteer tutors provide literacy services for adults who need to build their basic skills, study English as a Second Language or prepare for a GED or United States Citizenship.
