Circles Utah Valley

Circles Utah Valley is seeking volunteers to befriend individuals who are working to overcome poverty. These volunteers, called Allies, create a "circle" of friendship and support for those who desire to change their situation. Allies meet with Circles participants at least twice a month (on the first and third week of the month) to have dinner (5:45-8:00pm Provo:Tuesdays or American Fork:Wednesdays) and help the participants reach their goals of becoming self-reliant.

As an Ally you will be asked to:

* Submit and pass a criminal background check

* Make a 12-18 month commitment to help an assigned family overcome poverty

* Attend weekly dinners (provided for free for all participants and volunteers) to encourage participants as they work to achieve their goals

* Offer emotional support as needed

The main role of an Ally is to offer unconditional love and support, especially in times of crisis. Dinner and childcare are provided to all volunteers and their families each week. To become an Ally contact:

Jamal Pugmire
Circles Volunteer Coordinator
