Volunteers are needed to assist at events organized by Friends of Wings, the fundraising arm of BJC Hospice's pediatric hospice program, Wings. Help is needed at fundraising events throughout the year, at various locations in the metropolitan area; past events have included the Big Bear Brunch for children, a fashion show, a trivia night, a Muny Preshow Extravaganza and more. Volunteer duties vary with each event, but they generally include:
- event setup or cleanup
- helping with registration
- selling items at the Butterfly Boutique pop-up shop
- helping with a silent auction
- selling raffle tickets
- manning a table of arts and crafts activities for kids
- working the bar or serving food.
Most event volunteer opportunities are for 3- or 4-hour shifts. Funds raised at these events goes to providing extraordinary care to children with potentially life-limiting illnesses. Please note: these opportunities do not involve working with pediatric patients.
Information about specific events will be posted as they're scheduled. If you'd like to be notified of upcoming event volunteer opportunities, please respond to this opportunity.
