Summary:

Help reduce the trauma a survivor experiences from an attempted or completed sexual assault. Provide unbiased emotional support and information to survivors, family members and friends. Help survivors understand their choices and support them in selecting their options.

Duties:

  • Crisis Intervention
  • Emotional support
  • Provide resources
  • Take crisis hotline or hospital accompaniment shifts when available, preferably at least one (1) shift per month.

Requirements:

  • Ability to empathize and provide non-judgmental support
  • Good listening skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • Weekend and evening availability
  • Ability to complete 40 hours of training certified by the Office of the Attorney General (Tues & Thurs nights)
  • Take a minimum of 1 shift per month

Our Mission is to provide counseling, education, and advocacy for those impacted by sexual violence.

Description

Free services are provided to victims of all forms of sexual violence including: attempted sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, date rape, incest, marital rape, and sexual harassment, no matter how long ago the incident occurred. Our services are provided by staff and trained volunteers.

We also provide free education to the middle schools, high schools, colleges, and the general community on topics such as bullying, sexual harassment, date rape, and other forms of sexual violence.
