- A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
By partnering with United Way of Weld County and other volunteers, you will be helping to complete a survey of those experiencing homelessness in Weld County. By completing this count, we can help to establish the need in our community, and thus better serve individuals and families at-risk.
Volunteers will approach individuals on the street or at a designated location (i.e. Lincoln Park Library, Salvation Army, etc.) and ask them if they would be willing to complete the survey.
Every volunteer will be assigned a partner, and will be required to stay together through a one to two-hour shift. Shifts begin at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, and will end at 7:00 p.m.
Required training will be the following dates and times:
- Wednesday, January 18 from 3:30-5:00pm. United Way of Weld County (814 9th St Greeley)
- Thursday, January 19 from 6:00-7:30pm. United Way of Weld County (814 9th St Greeley)
- Tuesday, January 24 from 4:00-5:30pm. North Colorado Health Alliance (2930 11th Avenue, Evans)
The Homeless Point-in-Time Count is a federally mandated, annual, nationwide survey that gathers information about the number of people experiencing homelessness in the United States. The information gathered is used to allocate U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding for programs that serve the homeless population here in Weld County.
