Moorpark Friends of the Library

We have many opportunities available depending on your skills and interests. We can really use volunteers who love books and would like to help us process book donations and support the book store and our quarterly book sales. We also need media specialists who like social media and can help us spread the word on facebook, etc about our library support activities. Since our primary responsibility is supporting the library, we can also use grant writers to obtain funding, writers who can help us pulicize our activities, people who love event planning (we have special fundraising events and recognition celebrations now and then), and even volunteers who can help us build our membership. All of our volunteer activities are very flexible; you can work whenever you want and for as long or as little as you want. Just let us know what works best for you and we can surely accommodate that!

About MOORPARK FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

Location:

PO BOX 452, MOORPARK, CA 93020, US

Mission Statement

The Friends is an independent non-profit organization specifically tasked with raisng funds for the Moorpark library and to support the library in any other way we can.

Description

We are a volunteer group of community members, moms, dads, young adults, retirees, friends and neighbors. We love our library and want to help it grow into a multi-purpose community service meeting the literacy, educational and related needs of our community. Some of our support efforts include: raising funds for the library through our in-library book store and book sales; purchasing book club books; sponsoring annual summer reading clubs; supporting children and teen reading programs; and much more. Although we exclusively support the library, we are not actually part of the library, but we work so closely together that it's easy to see us as one organization.
